BEIJING (AFP) - Sixty percent of Chinese college leavers looking for work in the final half of 2006 will be unable to find a job, a government report has revealed.

China is expected to face serious employment difficulties during this period, according to a report published by the National Development and Reform Commission, the official Xinhua news agency said Sunday.

The number of graduates will increase by 22 percent over the previous year to reach 4.13 million while the job market can only soak up 1.66 million new graduates, down 22 percent on the previous year, the report said.

6. What??
More people in China have access to the internet than in America. There are more English speaking people in China than in America and lastly, more people aer employed by American compaines in China than in America.

In fact, here is a fun lesson on China:

8. Yeah but they will be cut out of all the great internet forums. And it
will be indian & indonesian as well as North American kids who cut their political & social teeth on these sites. The Chines will have to sign up for site that are babyish and childlike. What else would you call a web forum that doesn't talk human rights?

11. I think the booming economy is in low paying jobs.
Think of all the cheap Chinese stuff the U.S. imports.

5. Hell, it's happening here in the States as well.
Like that old joke: How do you get a recent College graduate off of your front porch?

Answer: Pay him for the pizza!

Sad, but all too true in bushAmerika.

12. "school leavers" is british for drop-out, i'm pretty sure
so the story is odd, since you wouldn't expect a college drop-out to have the same employment opportunities as a college graduate yet this quote conflates the two
