NO. 10 Ban On Praying
Shrub wanting to kneel down next to his faithful hound and to pray together for re-election.

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/allnews/page.cfm?objectid=13633942&method=full&siteid=50143

TONY Blair has been banned from praying with George Bush.

The US president wanted the PM to join him in prayer at Durham Cathedral on Thursday.

But the official request from the White House was turned down amid fears that such an event would leave Mr Blair open to ridicule.

if we accept that Bush was "chosen by God"...only a blind idiot would put someone like Junior in a position of power, no?

23. My god, that's hideous!
Didn't they hire a professional Hollywood production team to the tune of $1 million for the CentCom backdrop in Kuwait? What happened here?

I guess those set designing skills have been lost from the Pinewood Studios/Hollywood Golden Era days when Errol Flynn was robbing from the rich and giving to the poor.

him 2 ridicule??!!?? Tony, Tony, Tony...hun, I'm sorry 2 break it 2 ya but the ridicule started a long time ago. This would only open a new area 4 the comics & Jon Stewart.

"...Alastair Campbell once told him: "We don't do God" when he(Blair) wanted to finish a TV broadcast with: "God bless you."...

Just once I would love a USpolitician 2 leave this off the end of a speech. I am so sick of this. Wrapped in the flag, talking to god!

7. Alastair Campbell can be a wise man
Alastair Campbell once told him: "We don't do God" when he wanted to finish a TV broadcast with: "God bless you."

Mr. Campbell certainly understands the meaning of separation of church and state O8)

All Georgie wanted was another photo-op/newsie to work on the Rove plan to rein in more Fundie votes. Bush has no shame, has no idea what it means to be humble.

20. Separation of church and state is not the rule in Britain
Far from it. The Queen is the official head of the Church of England.

I think this is simply indication that Mr. Campbell has a sense of propriety.

and I don't give a fried fart if Bush or Blair are Christian or Druids. It's PRIVATE. It's PERSONAL. You don't need a photo op to converse with God and if you do, you oughtta at least make sure that God gets good lighting.

Geez, I get sick of this crap.

33. Bush is just like that guy in the Bible passage -
who, in the parable, was given as the example of what NOT to do. The rich man who swaggered down the center aisle with his big, ostentatious, but quite empty contribution that he wanted everybody in the Temple to be sure to see. Then off to the side, at the end, was the poor widow (I think) with just a penny to contribute and she snuck it in at the end of the line because it was all she could afford and she knew it couldn't possibly compare with what the rich man just paraded down front with. But God liked her contribution a LOT better. I believe some fellow called Jesus told this story. The same guy bush cites as his favorite philosopher. Wonder if he's even read or understood anything that Our Lord Jesus "blessed are the peacemakers" Christ tried to teach.

It's really distressing. And we're being "led" by this cretin. THAT is the face of America to the world. We SHOULD change our national bird from the eagle to the turkey.

I'm betting the leaders of the whole plamn danet know by now that Captain Penis-gourd of the Holy Warbuck is not only bad for all life, he's bad for business.

What disturbs me is the hyper-inflated ostentation of this trip to England. To many in the world it could be seen as a show of weakness this late in the game.

With all the enemies Bush ahs made, that has me worried.

14. Why don't they piss on the Quran while they are at it?
considering Muslims make up the second largest religious group in the UK. I mean really, how would it look to the rest of the world to see the "Coalition of the Killing" praying together to their christian deities?

26. Hmm
"praying together to their christian deities?"

It's only one deity, and the ironic thing is that it's the same one as the one in the Quran.

I have to say I'm perplexed everytime I hear a US politician invoke God... I was always under the impression He didn't dabble in politics.

But it's still only one God (the God of the Torah, the Bible and the Quran).

Dim Son will say he is a "Man of Peace". But a "Man of Piss" is a more honest statement. And to prove it he has everyone in the world with a sliver of brains pissed off at him. Must it be good for me as an American to have my leader dispised as the "Evil Doer" that he is? Oops here comes the American Media(sic) to tell me I am all wrong and that the "Court Appointed Pre-emptive Strike Boy" was chosen by god.

19. They obviously haven't read the Bible
Matthew 6:1-6

Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.

Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:

That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.

And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
