In the latest case of 'cybersquatting,' Web surfers trying to access their online investment accounts are being funneled to a graphic anti-abortion site.

Lately, some people attempting to review their Merrill Lynch accounts online or to send fan mail to Matrix star Carrie-Anne Moss have instead found themselves at www.AbortionIsMurder.org, a Broward site that uses photos of aborted fetuses to make its point.
It's another example of the Internet phenomenon known as ''cybersquatting,'' taking a domain name that arguably belongs to someone else to make a buck or send a message.
One of the most famous cases involved John Zuccarini, arrested in Hollywood two months ago on suspicion of luring unsuspecting children into lurid adult websites. Zuccarini played on countless variants of famous names to direct Internet travelers into a jumble of pages offering sex and gambling.
This time, a different laptop is at work. The Web addresses wwwmerrilllynch.com (the period intentionally deleted), www.carrieannemoss.com and scores of others all trace back to the Bronx offices of John Barry, an Internet entrepreneur who says he's trying to change minds about abortion. (snip/...)
