U.S. Authorities Fill in Border Tunnel
SAN DIEGO (AP) - The U.S. Border Patrol dumped concrete Monday into a primitive tunnel discovered last week beneath the U.S.-Mexico border, just yards from a busy border crossing linking San Diego with Tijuana, Mexico.

The tunnel, measuring about four feet in diameter, extended 60 feet into the United States, surfacing in a parking lot near the duty-free shop next to the San Ysidro Port of Entry.

Investigators with the San Diego Tunnel Task Force discovered the tunnel Friday in an ongoing investigation. U.S. authorities were working with their Mexican counterparts to determine where the tunnel originated, said Lauren Mack, a spokeswoman for Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Mack said a small part of the tunnel, near its the U.S. exit, appeared to tap into existing passageways that were discovered in the same area in 2003 and 2004.

1. The southern border probably has more tunnels under that land than
did Viet Nam. The who county should have collapsed.

5. "U.S. authorities were working with their Mexican counterparts...
to determine where the tunnel originated".

Oh yeah, sure... I'll bet there's a whole lot of cooperation from our Mexican counterparts.
