Researchers find no signs of "Iraq War Syndrome"
LONDON (Reuters) - British soldiers who served in Iraq are showing few signs of the 'Iraq War Syndrome' that troubled veterans of the Gulf War in the early 1990s, scientists said on Tuesday.

They examined whether there had been an increase in ill health in soldiers returning from Iraq and compared the mental and physical health of forces who had been deployed and those who had not.

They found only slight increases in symptoms but reserve forces experienced more mental health problems than regular forces.

"Is there an Iraq War Syndrome? The answer is no, at least not yet but at the moment certainly not," Professor Simon Wessely, of the King's Center for Military Health Research at King's College London, told a news conference.

The forward forces in the first invasion of Iraq were exposed to all kinds of s**t that is not in use in this most recent version.

on edit: The Brits are mainly centered around Basra, which has been relatively quiet until recently.
And they have not been actively engaging, just trying to maintain the status quo (whatever in the hell that is).

3. Two points
1) It's too soon to tell. It took time before the symptoms started appearing after the first Gulf War.

2) UK soldiers are still in Iraq and few have returned to be assessed.

Overall, the research is worthless.

4. I recall the same 'diagnosis' w/VN. My b-i-l is 55 and still suffers, as
do many others. This 'war' will be just as bad if not worse. This is total bullshit. This admin doesn't have a clue regarding what they're 'creating'.
