RICHLAND, Wash. -- Washington residents support using renewable energy sources and improving energy efficiency in the state, according to a new poll released Wednesday by a renewable energy group.
The poll commissioned by the Renew Washington Campaign did not ask voters if they would be willing to pay higher utility bills to develop new energy sources.
Supporters hope the poll will help provide momentum for proposed legislation that would require utilities to increase their reliance on renewable energy sources and improve energy efficiency. Such a bill failed in the Legislature earlier this year.
