FL: 'Surplusing' process starts for school employees (new word for layoff)
http://www.sun-herald.com/NewsArchive2/052106/tp7ew3.htm?date=052106&story=tp7ew3.htm

Most will find new jobs within the district. Some won't. But they'll all get the proverbial 'pink slip.'

Some Sarasota County School District employees learned recently they've been "surplused."

Officials say it's too early to call them "layoffs," but the reality is after June 30 their jobs no longer exist. The district hopes to find jobs elsewhere for surplused staff.

<snip>

It doesn't make sense to employees who have been notified they were surplused, partly because school funding is up. And they're perturbed at what they thought was a promise by the district that no one would lose their job over the budget realignment.

Now people are "surplus" :eyes:

3. So that means they are additional benefits to the district
which must be slashed and terminated as soon as their viability becomes zero. Surplus sounds like a double-plus-good word. :eyes:

4. Surplusing?
According to the rules of the English language that would mean "taking on more than is needed".

This is the opposite process.

sec of labor R Reich, and two nobel laureates, etc

a serious site for a serious solution to joblessness

see sig below for link.

uses co-ops, share the work, new WPA, etc.

To end the illegals crisis, just create a JFA program both in Mexico... and here for our own citizens. Presto, no illegals problem, and none harmed.

9. "surplused" - fits in with that "collateral damage" sorta thing
.
.
.

Killing peoples' jobs

Killing people

Got it?

It's the PNACers vocabulary to keep the sheeples mute and ignorant

Makes sense to me!

OH

by the way

a proper spelling would be "surplussed" or "surplussing"

yeah - I ain't surprised they can't even spell it right

ya know

"military intelligence" is an oxymoron of the biggest proportion.

At least when it is used in reference to the USA

(sigh)

10. They did the same thing in DC
3 years ago every school laid off 10% of their staff. Many simply went to Virginia and Maryland. The union here did very little to stop it.

it is called "repurposing".

Join me in a collective technicolor yawn! *vomits just a little*

I was "repurposed" three times in a row.
