USA Today/CNN/ Gallup: Support for Iraq War Continues to Drop
Edited on Thu Nov-20-03 01:19 AM by rumguy
Notice the incredibly odd wording of the lengthy title, the reason I changed it for this posting.....what does support becoming "more even" mean? It means they don't want to say that Bush is floundering in Iraq...no spines in these corporate journalists...

1. i think it means that the numbers of supporters are "even" with the number
who don't support the iraq invasion and handling.

they'd indicate the overall trend (up or down) in the headline..there's a lot of people out there (like shrubya) that only read the headlines....

4. Correction............
He has the headlines read TO him. Like his crone of a mother, he can't waste his "beautiful mind" on such trivialities.

3. asa much as I want to blame the title on spineless corporate journalists..
I think it has more to do with the labor-saving 'productivity' they have employed at the wire-services... sometimes I think they hire applicants that are within three years of obtaining their GED to fill their copy-editor positions. The attention these people pay to editing and conventions is pathetic. I still can't make out what the headline means. Is there suppose to be a break or a colon after Even

Support for Iraq becomes more even: 55...
I can't make sense of it otherwise.

6. Well, that was just splendly mealy-mouthed gobbledegook, wasn't it?
Much less non-disapproval than before, but it's holding steady, with the angle of decline decreasing somewhat.

Of course, with an administration that never pays attention to polls, this shouldn't affect their decision making, even presuming that the actions preceding their actions can really be called "decisions".

7. According to tonight's "Law and Order"
The vast majority of Americans support the "war" overwhelmingly. The increase in far-right TV shows has increased dramatically--truth or not.

It's incredible to see.
