Free Iraq will be ‘devastating defeat’ for Al-Qaeda: Bush

WASHINGTON: US President George W Bush said Sunday that the formation of Iraq’s new government will serve as a “devastating defeat” for Al-Qaeda and other terrorists seeking to create unrest in the region.

“I fully understand that a free Iraq will be an important ally on the war on terror, will serve as a devastating defeat for the terrorists and Al-Qaeda and will serve as an example for others in the region who desire to be free,” Bush told reporters at the White House.

15. Exactly, he* has that "I'll show them I'm not stupid" look in his* eye...
the only thing he* needs to complete the picture is for him* to shake his* fist at us.

He's* getting really desperate and that's what scares me.

13. Watch for the buzz-words.
When they use words like

Freedom
Free
They hate us for our Freedoms
War on Terror
The enemy

Cover your ears. It's all smoke & mirrors. They're data mining for people's sense of patriotism, honor and whatever we've got that can be mined, for their own evil purposes.

14. Capturing bin Laden would be a 'devastating defeat'.....
for al Queda. The continuing war in Iraq on serves to ensure that the U.S. will be hated around the world and innocent people will die.

17. Yeah, they're devastated all right
What with the capture of Osama Bin Laden, the peaceful democratization of Iraq, and the way the entire world has embraced George Bush and his crusade for "liberation."

They must be completely demoralized by now . . .

:sarcasm:

18. The Iraqis had more freedom under Saddam than they have now
How many times have busses been blown up in Baghdad pre-Bush? How many teachers were lined up and shot pre-Bush? How many journalists in Iraq were taken from their hotels and murdered pre-Bush? I fear Iraq will never know freedom again.

19. Al-Qaeda already won!!!
The Iraq "war" has only cost the US... not Al-Qaeda.

It has cost us at least a trillion bucks in current and long-term expenses.
It has cost us at least 2600 soldiers, sailors, and Marines.
It has cost us at least 15,000 maimed soldiers, sailors, and Marines.
It has cost us our allies.
It has cost us the respect of the world.
It has cost us our freedom and privacy here at home.
It has shown that the giant US military can be stalled and even defeated by a relatively small force.

What has it cost Al-Qaeda?

The lives of a few willing jihadists
Money from rich donors who probably made their fortune from selling oil to the US.

The US has already lost... and not just in Iraq.
