Britain Confirms Meeting of World Powers on Iran
By REUTERS
Published: May 22, 2006

LONDON (Reuters) - Senior officials from the United States, Russia, China, France, Britain and Germany will meet in London on Wednesday to discuss the next steps on Iran's disputed nuclear program, a British official confirmed on Monday.

The meeting of political directors was postponed last week to allow the European Union trio more time to prepare a package of incentives aimed at getting Tehran to freeze a uranium enrichment program the West says could be used to make atomic bombs.

Tehran says it needs the nuclear technology for power stations.

"The meeting is on Wednesday,'' said a foreign ministry spokesman who declined to give further details.

Despite divisions, officials from the permanent members of the United Nations Security Council plus Germany will try to agree on what action to take next with Iran....

2. Russia and China will continue to let us spin.
They have no interest in seeing us have our way here. The europeans may go along, but only with the fore-knowledge that no carte blanche will be handed to bushco to let it get its war on. Bush will have to go it alone, and he will need a provocation to do so.

4. a BushCo. dog & pony show
and thats all. there will be the weeping and wailing and the gnashing of teeth. then bush and/or bolton will rant and rave about how 'the international community isn't living up to its responsibilities'.

and i can't see NATO being stupid enough to fall for bush's crap on this.
