Three days, no verdict in Enron case
May 22, 2006

HOUSTON - Enron founder Kenneth Lay and former chief executive Jeffrey Skilling faced another day of waiting Monday as jurors in the biggest corporate trial in memory continued their third day of deliberations.

A jury of eight women and four men left the federal courthouse around 5:20 p.m. ET through a back entrance. The jury made only one request of the court Monday - asking for external speakers for their laptops, presumably to listen to the audio tapes of analyst calls.

Otherwise, the jurors have kept mum since they began deliberating last Wednesday afternoon, providing no indication of their progress as they mull over stacks of evidence and pore through the testimony of over 50 witnesses.

The jury is expected to pick up deliberations Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. ET.

Seems things aren't looking too good for Kenny Boy and Jeff. I hope this jury throws the book at them.

1. Hang 'em high! It's good there are eight women on the jury.
They will hopefully tend to be more "outraged" by the sleight of hand of these bozos that resulted in so much misery. But one can also imagine one "good ole boy" on the jury who keeps arguing that "This goes on all the time, in every business." I want to see striped suits and long extended prison sentences.

2. Uh, oh
...external speakers for their laptops, presumably to listen to the audio tapes of analyst calls.

All that gleeful, adolescent cackling over Grandma Millie losing her pension??? Gee, just the thing ya wanna wind up the deliberations with!

3. I keep having this recurring dream
that Kenny Boy is found guilty on the same day Turd Blossom gets indicted - it COULD HAPPEN!

4. These types of cases are very difficult for juries to understand.
I haven't been able to keep up to dte on the daily news on this trail, so I don't know how good the prosecutor was at explaining things. Hell, I'm an accountant, and when I would listen to some of the convoluted things those guys did, even I get confused! They wove a very intricate and complex web of deceipt. I'm not at all surprised that this jury is taking a long time. I'll be surprised if they make their decision by Friday!

I am spending my days and nights with crossed fingers that they return with a guilty verdict, and the sentence is VERY LONE for both of them!

6. I Hope They Force Restitution And Reparations
I hope that, not only does Kenny Boy get a long term in jail...but that he is financially stripped, and the money goes to pay restitution to the people who got ripped off, and lost their pensions at the hands of this greedy asshole...and Reparations should be made to the honest employees who lost their jobs and their 401K's at the hands of this greedy son of a bitch.

He should never be free again in his life, and his entire wealth should be taken from him, since he got it dishonestly, anyway...and it should be distributed among those who his actions victimized.

8. The Enron criminals deserve the death penalty
I stand by that position, and if it makes the anti-death penalty crowd mad...tough!

Lay and Skilling should thank God they are even getting a trial. In many other countries they would simply be disposed of.

9. I think you got the last part wrong
In other countries Enron would still be a giant and guys like Lay and Skilling would still be reaping the rewards of their dishonesty.

11. wire transfers not complete
I'm guessing the jurors still haven't gotten their $1,000,000 payoff for their not guilty verdict.
