Caller Says Al Qaeda, Turk Group Behind Blasts-TV

ISTANBUL (Reuters) - A caller to Turkey's semi-state Anatolian news agency claimed responsibility for Thursday's two blasts in Istanbul in the name of Osama bin Laden (news - web sites)'s al Qaeda network and of a small Turkish Islamist group, CNN Turk said.



Both groups also claimed responsibility for two synagogue blasts last Saturday which killed 25 people. Turkish police said they did not believe the Turkish group, known as the Islamic Great Eastern Raiders Front (IBDA-C), could have carried out either the Saturday or Thursday blasts, CNN Turk television said.
