Bush, grim-faced after new blasts, says terrorists hate freedom
Thanks, Dubya. You have the whole world making fun of America's pResident.

LONDON : US President George W. Bush, outraged by massive bomb attacks in Turkey that came during his state visit to Britain, stood alongside British Prime Minister Tony Blair and vowed to crush global terrorists who "hate freedom".

"They hate freedom. They hate free countries," a grim-faced Bush said at a Downing Street press conference as the death toll from the Turkish metropolis topped 25.

"The terrorists hope to intimidate. They hope to demoralise. They particularly want to intimidate free nations," he said.

"They are not going to succeed. We are united in our determination to fight this evil wherever it is found."

3. You know, if an original thought ever penetrated Stupidhead's cranium
It would almost certainly die of loneliness.

Damn Karl, you lazy so-and-so, at least you could have put in fresh tapes for a state visit!

4. Or
Maybe they just hate not being cut in on oil pipeline deals
going through Afganistan and hold a personal grudge against
Bushco's oil & plunder administration.

-We report, you decide.

5. blah blah blah

Has the Chimp ever explained what he means by "they hate freedom"?

He uses it like a magic charm, but it really doesn't make any sense. No wonder we're losing the War on Terrah if this is our sole understanding of terrorist motivations.

8. Good point. If they "hated freedom," wouldn't they turn themselves
in to Gitmo or something?

13. Notice how there is NEVER anyone among the multitudes of
talking heads - who actually looks at statements like that and questions them, or probes their meaning, or what possible, logical, reasonable sense a statement like that MEANS??????

Dear God, I WISH!!!!!

14. Just a convenient phrase...
kind of like using "9-11 changed everything" to excuse any miserable piece of crap legislation like The Patriot Act. Doesn't mean a damn thing, he just says it and people seem to respond. I feel like throwing something at the t.v. every time he's on.

I believe Corn has a whole section of his book regarding the "They Hate Freedom" mantra - it's meaningless marketing tripe.

12. He sounds pathetic
Really, the man is a megalomaniac. If he had ever been serious about fighting "terra" he might have concentrated on finding Bin Laden, instead of insisting on his completely illegal invasion of Iraq.

There has been more bloodshed, more disorder, more suffering, more hatred, more everything evil since he stole the presidency.

24. Bush was asked during a press conference
why he thinks that people in England hate him and I was sure he was going to respond "because they hate freedom." Instead, I was shocked and awed to hear him say how much he loved that the people had the right to protest (like they do now in Iraq, although, not really...). Is his love of protest (and freedom?) the reason why he asked British police to shut down major portions of the city while he was there and to maintain a huge bubble around him so that the protests wouldn't appear in his photo-ops?

hey that is what he was told to memorize and he has repeated it to himself one hundred times every night as he drifts off to sleep. That is why he says it so effortlessly in all sort of crisis situations. :-)

28. "They hate freedom"???
Considering his other comments about freedom:

"You're lucky to be free."
"There ought to be limits to freedom."

Are you sure * isn't subconsciously talking about himself?
Naah. His brain isn't that sophisticated.
