THE Vatican deplored today's bombings in Turkey, condemning the "barbarous logic of terrorism" that only causes the death of innocents and destruction.

These bombings, as are any bombings anywhere in the world are deplorable acts.

4. I was thinking about that myself while listening to the news.

I also broke out in cynical laughter as Tony Blair explained how anybody who kills innocent people should be punished. How could he miss the irony?

Actually the Pope spoke quite passionately against the invasion of Iraq, saying that if it happened it would be a "defeat for humanity."
