Don't get lazy now, governor urges GOP

The Associated Press |
Posted May 27, 2006

MIAMI -- Gov. Jeb Bush delivered a passionate speech Friday night that was in part a plea to keep Democrats from tearing down Republican accomplishments during his eight years in office.

He talked of low unemployment, lower crime rates, higher student scores, lower taxes and a government better at providing social services.

In many ways it sounded like a campaign speech, and in many ways it was -- for his successor. Bush leaves office in January, and he asked that activists help elect a Republican to replace him.

"Success is never final. Whatever accomplishments that you've made, you have to keep pushing forward," Bush said at the Miami-Dade County Republican dinner. "If you rest on your laurels, it's the first day of your demise."

1. Jeb, the Republicans have torn everything down all by themselves
Including the heart and soul of this once great country.

Grab a few bags of fries and a few xtra-thick choco shakes and chill out.

2. That's right Jeb, whip 'em into shape.
We certainly hope all those crony backscratching deals haven't made them lazy now?

Too much of a good thing maybe? Nov. 9 ought ought to whip them into shape.

3. They've been lazy for decades...
...throwing money instead of solving problems, and reciting rote speeches on "family values" instead of facing issues affecting working Americans. And the * family is among the laziest.
