Former Pa. Congressman Reacts To Santorum's Residency Claims
PITTSBURGH -- Sen. Rick Santorum launched his political career 16 years back by unseating then-Rep. Doug Walgren with an aggressive attack on the issue of whether Walgren really lived in a home in the area.

"And I've talked to his neighbors. His parents live there. He does not live there," Santorum said years back.

(snip)

Santorum's staff told Mayo that Santorum didn't have children when he made his 1990 pledge to live in his district.

Walgren said he had three kids in 1990, but he's not looking for any apologies.

"I know that he knows that that attack on me was something that he probably says to himself oftentimes, that, 'Gee, here I am. I'm doing the same thing,'" Walgren said.

1. Tricky Ricky is STILL Hiding Behind his CHILDREN....
Edited on Tue May-30-06 07:05 PM by corporatemedia
He will continue to hide behind his children.

That is their #1 talking point.
They're so deeply weaved in their web of lies that I'm not sure if they even have a #2 talking point for this issue.

T-Ricky Talking Point #1:
How to show it's BULLSHIT!

Right after the election, he 0ame out with both guns blazing and managed to shoot himself in the foot!

2. I'm sorry, but why is this BS going on and on. Either he lives there or
he doesn't. Where's the mystery? The guy's not a hermit.

3. Just sent this...
to the Senator from Virginia:

As a resident of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania who is committed to the strength of the family, I find it unfortunate that you have made your primary residence in the State of Virginia. It appears that you have placed greater importance in the political expediency of residing closer to Washington, DC than in your home state of Pennsylvania. If you feel that you can't serve the dual responsibilities as a father and Senator from Pennsylvania while still having your primary residence in Pennsylvania, then perhaps it is time that you step down and allow a resident of Pennsylvania to run as the Republican candidate.

6. Doug Walgren Was a Great Congressman!
I grew up in his District, and he was a FANTASTIC Congressman. Always had time for his constituents. Never a bad word said about him in a heavily Repug district, until Tricky Ricky came along. Now they have Sweet Melissa (Joan) Hart, a Stepford Bushbot to the Nth degree.
