Milosevic not poisoned, UN finds
There is no evidence to suggest that former Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic was poisoned, according to a United Nations investigation.

The Hague tribunal's report said he died of a heart attack - despite claims "in some segments of the media that he was the victim of murder".

Mr Milosevic died in his cell on 11 March while on trial for war crimes.

The report said security breaches did allow him to self-medicate but said he had received "proper care".

The UN report is based on the investigations by the Dutch public prosecutors, coroner and police.

1. Milosevic not poisoned, UN finds
I would be somewhat more convinced if the EU had at least suggested that an external investigator be brought in to investigate this. I sincerely doubt that Milosevich would be dead today if he were in Swiss custody.

4. Believing he was murdered does not equal sympathizing with him.
Dying by induced heart attack was far too easy a way out for the bastard, but no doubt his death protected other powerful people.

Who knows what secrets died with him.

6. Normally, no, it doesn't.
In the case of "Afrosia", I'm not so sure.

Of course even Milosevic deserved due process. And according to the gov't there, he would've gotten it. I don't know whether he was poisoned or not, but I'm not shedding any tears either way.

7. Or to put it another way,
the world is better for everyone if even those who don't deserve due process are given it.

Hmmm ...
Can you imagine the GOP ever letting any of their insiders stand trial in an "unfriendly" court"?They might not agree that due process would be such a good thing for everyone. ;-)
