U.N. Demands More Security in Afghanistan
KABUL, Afghanistan -- Terrorists will kill more of the humanitarian workers trying to rebuild Afghanistan if international forces don't improve security soon, a U.N. official warned Sunday at the funeral for a slain French aid worker.

Kamel Morjane, the assistant high commissioner of the United Nations refugee agency, noted that anti-government militants pose an increasing threat throughout the country.

"This year alone, 12 aid workers -- Afghans and expatriates -- have been killed in Afghanistan in terrorist attacks," Morjane said.

He made the remarks at a memorial for Bettina Goislard, 29, who was shot on Nov. 16 in the southern city of Ghazni by suspected Taliban insurgents. She was the first international aid worker killed in Afghanistan since a U.S.-led coalition ousted the hardline Islamic regime in late 2001.

1. Bush is no longer interested
in either Afghanistan or finding Osama bin Laden. They have served their purpose, which was to give him an excuse to start a war. Now we're bogged down in Iraq, because we for all practical purposes abandonned Afghanistan.

Any bets that he's getting bored with this toy, it doesn't do what he thought it would, so he's figuring out which country to attack now. He's like an addict, always needing a new fix.

It's absolutely disgusting to leave Afghanistan worse than it was before we attacked. Iraq will be even worse.
