N Korea threatens to launch more missiles
SEOUL, South Korea — A defiant North Korea on Thursday threatened to test-fire more missiles and warned of even stronger action if opponents of the tests put pressure on the country, amid signs of further activity at the reclusive regime's launch sites. The Bush administration dismissed the threat.

"We're certainly not going to overreact ... to these wild statements out of Pyongyang and North Korea," said Undersecretary of State R. Nicholas Burns. "We've seen them before."

The further show of bravado by Pyongyang came amid intense diplomatic jockeying by the United States and its allies to prod the U.N. Security Council to take stern action against the North's seven missile tests Wednesday.

In its first statement on the launches, North Korea's Foreign Ministry insisted the communist state had the right to test its missiles and argued the weapons were needed for defense.

1. This Is Breaking News?
Wow! I'm shocked! They're going to launch more missles? Why on earth would they want to do that? They're a nice little friendly country.

I bet our King is just as surprised.

3. It's Just Ironic
I'm not criticizing your posting the story, but it's just becoming so lame. Like, this is breaking news? And I suppose the earth is round also.

Another day, another stupid example of just how screwed up things are. Oh, and by the way, there are troops dying right now in Iraq. Yeh, that war we went into voluntarily, while now North Korea debates how many more missles to launch. Breaking News!!

any impact of a missile on or near hawaii would trigger a massive retaliation. If that was a soviet missile at any time in the cold war it would have triggered a nuclear response.

11. Let's see now; Korea is shrugged off for testing missiles..
potential WMD on a large order. But Iraq is considered a hotbed of terror with no WMD in sight and as a result get's the hell bombed out of it and the slaughter of it's citizens in the process of "staying the course".
Is it me or is something wrong with this picture. Oh I know, Korea can kick ass back here if they want to, and they don't have a strategic oil base to control. Don't want to waste billions of dollars on that farce. Next.
