KABUL (Reuters) - U.S.-led troops were ambushed in southern Afghanistan
and one coalition soldier was killed and one wounded, a spokesman for the
force said on Friday.

"They were in a convoy and got ambushed. One was killed and one wounded,"
the spokesman said of the Thursday night clash in the province of Helmand.
He did not give the nationality of the soldier killed or wounded.

"Coalition forces returned fire killing five extremists," the spokesman said.
