The repubs will Never allow the Democrats to win a majority this year. Ain't gonna happen. You don't need to get your hopes up about Pelosi having any powers. She'll have the same power she has now......NONE.

any corrupt repug. Warrants are served every day in this country - I don't think that Congressional offices should be sacrosanct. We don't have the luxury in our own homes or offices, why should they?
That said, can ya imagine the gnashing of teeth and wailing going on in the offices of Frist, Hassert, and all of the other slimy repugs? They now know their offices are not some blessed refuges of evil doings. The cops can waltz right in and take their records if the situation (and warrant) deems it necessary. Guess that means they will have to be more careful while trashing the Consitution, stealing elections and currying favor with the special interest groups.

We talk so much about Duh-bya's illegal activities. We'd come across as hypocrites if we tried to defend Jefferson. Ringo

I'm not saying he's guilty. If he is, then we shouldn't try to defend him. He did something wrong, and he should pay for it. We shouldn't knee-jerk and assume that he's completely innocent or guilty. Ringo

You're the one bringing up his race. I had neither mentioned it nor assumed he was guilt because of his race before you brought it up.
If he's innocent, fine. But if he's found to be guilty, then Democrats should be consistent and criticize him for his illegal activities.
All I'm saying is that we shouldn't automatically assume that he's innocent or guilty.
There's a lot of knee-jerking going on here. Now I'm a racist because I think that if Jefferson's guilty he should not be supported by our party? Ringo

if you think pitohui is the one who singled out the congressman to invade his office and home at a time when we needed him in his position on the ways and means committee then what can i say?
i call 'em as i see em and when i see a black congressman treated differently from all of the white congressmen before him then i will draw my own conclusions
if and when he is found to be guilty, crap on him then, until then the circular firing squad needs to hold off
how many years did the GOP stand by tom delay, how many years of power did that buy the people in his district?
i am not accusing anyone on this site of racism, but this society and the FBI, yes, i do accuse

Well, the FBI and society in general is a different story. I understand where you're coming from.
Sorry. I guess I was the one who knee-jerked. Ringo

they hadn't made a dawn raid to seize the documents, he might well have moved them and concealed their whereabouts.
