Katherine Harris's Campaign Staff To Resign (Again)
July 12, 2006
Katherine Harris's Campaign Staff To Resign
Hotline On Call-National Journal

The high command of Rep. Katherine Harris's FL Senate bid plans to resign by the end of the week, two people familiar with the campaign tell the Hotline.

The departing staff includes Glen Hodas, Harris's campaign manager, her spokesperson, Chris Ingram, and Pat Thomas, her field director. The status of Harris's chief fundraiser, Erin Delullo, is not clear.

The resignations will take effect by Friday, according to the sources. TooConservative, a Virginia-based blog, first reported this afternoon that several staffers would quit.

One person involved in the campaign said there was no single precipitating factor. "She's just very difficult to work with. It's all the same stuff. The more than we put her out there, the more she shot herself in the foot," this person said.

Harris Loses Top Campaign Staff -- Again

Top aides to Rep. Katherine Harris' (R-FL) Senate campaign are heading for the exit, the Hotline On Call reports.

"The departing staff includes Glen Hodas, Harris's campaign manager, her spokesperson, Chris Ingram, and Pat Thomas, her field director. The status of Harris's chief fundraiser, Erin Delullo, is not clear," the blog says.

Harris is trailing her Democratic challenger by 33 points, according to a recent Quinnipiac University poll.

If you recall, in April Harris lost "her chief political strategist, her campaign manager, her spokeswoman, her director of field operations and even a traveling aide who helps hand out stickers at campaign appearances," as the Orlando Sentinel reported the first exodus.

After the first wave of defections, Harris instituted a "loyalty oath" policy ...

4. One measure of her irrelevance when a Harris thread can't get more DUers
to respond each time she does something a little more pathetic. Normally we just pile on with a Katherine Harris thread. By now she's become so tiresome, so pathetically pointless, that we don't even bother with the usual schaudefreude jubilee with her latest fuck ups. Have we really lost the ability to kick a dog when she's down? Are we slipping back into a sense of decency? For SHAME!!

14. AP: Deja vu for Harris: Key Senate campaign staff leaves
Deja vu for Harris: Key Senate campaign staff leaves

By BRENDAN FARRINGTON
AP Political Writer

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Katherine Harris' Senate campaign staff is leaving again, and the description of working for the Republican congresswoman plays like a scene out of "Mommie Dearest."

Harris is prone to tantrums, wants to be treated like a princess, micromanages, fixates on minutia while ignoring the big picture, and sometimes does exactly opposite of what advisers tell her with bad results that they have to clean up later, staff members said.

It's a story that's been told before. When her first campaign staff left in April, the same description of Harris was given by those who quit the effort to unseat Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson.

"That's exactly like what happened," said Ed Rollins, a strategist that left the campaign in April "Everything is someone else's fault. If there's not a Starbucks coffee house within distance, it's someone else's fault."

15. And the LIES...did you see Countdown tonight? KO said that she had claimed
to have passed a bill that allows low-income folks to own a home, and her claim was that 4,000,000 people had taken advantage of that. Truth is, 13,000 was the actual number. As Keith says, she ain't exactly good at countin' stuff...

17. Because the Buddha and the Christ both counsel compassion
Edited on Thu Jul-13-06 09:26 PM by vixengrl
I will honor the divine within her humanity, and acknowledge her capacity for suffering. Then I and Eris will laugh our asses off at her capacity for discord, and acknowledge that if she cannot handle a campaign, she definitely does not need more responsibility. She is just about responsible for herself.
