U.S. pulls plug on Arab media in Iraq |
|
BAGHDAD, Iraq, Nov. 24 — One of the Middle East’s biggest television news networks agreed Monday to halt reports from Iraq after the U.S.-appointed government raided its offices, banned its broadcasts and threatened to imprison journalists. The government accused Al-Arabiya of “inciting murder” for broadcasting an audio tape a week ago of a voice it said belonged to Saddam Hussein.http://www.msnbc.com/news/997582.asp?0cv=CB10

Can't wait to hear the cheer leading
I wonder if we will get the speeches of Comrade Condominium Rice and Comrade Colon Bowel 24/7
Maybe a few Gilligan's Island reruns to fill the day.

Al-Arabiya was launched shortly before the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq. The channel was started as a new venture of Middle East News, a Dubai-based production company that also runs the Middle East Broadcasting Center. It is owned by the brother-in-law of Saudi Arabia’s King Fahd.

and that big gun fight at close range. It only has two stars, and IMO Jack Nicolson was as funny as he was great in this film.
