Giuliani Considering 2008 Presidential Run

BALTIMORE -- Former New York City mayor Rudolph Giuliani said he is "seriously considering" a run for president in 2008. But he reiterated, as he has in many campaign-style appearances, that he was focused on the 2006 midterm elections. He said he would continue to travel the country to gauge the breadth of his support and his ability to raise the money needed for a presidential bid.

"Eventually, when you make the decision, you have to go through a kind of soul-searching about how much you think you can bring to it," Giuliani said.

Giuliani and Maryland Gov. Robert Ehrlich hailed each other as fellow moderates Wednesday, and Giuliani said Ehrlich has provided the kind of leadership that states around the country need.

Speaking to reporters at a fundraiser for Ehrlich's re-election bid, Giuliani said he has been a longtime supporter of Ehrlich and admires his commitment to fiscal discipline.

1. I would as soon write-in for Al Capone than vote for Rudy Giuliani.

2. He doesn't hate women and gays enough to win the Repub primary.
Even though he is a dedicated Bushbot, that isn't enough.

4. Actually it scares me that he's campaigning for Erhlich...
I'm not sure how Marylanders perceive Guiliani, but it does scare me that he's stomping for Erhlich in this state. Let's see what happens...

18. but he is stumping for Rick Santorum
who infamously compared gay sex to bestiality.
So. Not sure how progressive ole Rudy really is.
I mean...stumping for Santorum?

3. I hope he runs
I wouldn't mind seeing campaign ads detailing his adultery, the shameful way he had his mistress in the governor's mansion at the same time his wife was still living there, his "family values" of having his mistress around his kids and his messy divorce showing 24/7.

5. The "Librul Media" would ignore the adultery...
The media ignores anything that Repugs do that is contrary to their pledge of family values. There's a total double standard. How many people actually know this much about Guiliani's mistress?

How would Guiliani's stance on gays, abortion square with the fascist Repug Rapture Right ? But he did become the Darling of the media after 911 and he could milk it for all it's worth. He'd murder any Dem on the campaign trail. It would be over for Hillary and anyone else who has aspirations.

12. The "Librul Media" would run the campaign ads
Which is different than reporting.

I was referring to the campaign ads.

14. The "Librul Media" would run anything that depicts Guiliani as the hero...
Whether it's campaign ads or whatever. Like McCain, Guiliani still is a media darling, and he'll keep reminding everyone of how "courageous" he was, standing there in the WTC rubble with Lil' Dumbya after 911.

And the "Librul Media" will praise Guiliani for "cleaning up New York City" even though more credit needs to be paid to the overall health of the economy during the late '90s. That's Clinton's fault, not Guiliani's *alledged* heroics. It's rather disgusting, don't you agree?

We know all about the length and circumference of Bill's dick and how Monica sucked it, and yet, the average American knows little about Guiliani's sordid past and his numerous dalliances. It's just sickening how the "Librul Media" goes after these well-meaning, Christian Republicans .

17. The "Librul Media" will run anything they're paid to run
In case you haven't noticed, the media is not doing so hot financially these days.

They wouldn't turn down a campaign ad from Hitler if he was a paying customer.

6. And how he blamed the troops for the missing munitions in Iraq.
I'd have to research his exact quote, but IMO it didn't get near enough attention in the media. A run for prez might change that. Jesus, Guliani. Another guy too small for the job we don't need.

13. He also blamed the troops for something else
I can't recall the specifics, but he blamed the troops for something the brass failed to do.

22. Tip of the Iceberg
Wait until they get into the corruption (a la Kerik) angle, not to mention the racial tensions from his iron fisted policies.

Not all of us New Yorkers developed amnesia after 9/11.

9. Tweety said he will be our next president!

He's been saying that for years. Tweety certainly loves him some Rudy. He is so dang convinced that Rudy WILL be the next president it's a bit mind boggling. He's the man for national security! It's all going to be about national security!! Rudy did do a good job on that "one" day. I will always give him credit for taking charge and doing the best he could for his city on and after 9/11. But for the life of me, I can't see how that makes him a winning candidate for president. Wait. How did we get loser GWB?

Oh Tweety. Nuff said.

10. Ugh
His stumping for Rick Sanscrotum should be enough to turn off any moderate voters. I think he was also rubbing noses with Ralphie Reed. Another big :puke:

He's win if the Repug Christofascists hold their noses and vote for a pro-gay, pro-choice candidate. I doubt they will, though.

15. If he COULD make it out of the primary....
He would win the General. However, I highly doubt he makes it out of the primary, unless the GOP establishment gets really desperate after '06.
