Missile hits Egyptian boat off Lebanon-Israel

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - A missile fired at an Israeli naval vessel off Lebanon early on Saturday missed the target and hit an Egyptian boat instead, the Israeli army said.

"There has been another attempt to attack an Israeli naval vessel. It missed our ship and instead hit a different ship, an Egyptian vessel," an Israeli army spokeswoman said.

9. This may sound weird, but this could be a good development...

it would show that terrorism is bad for everyone, even Arabs. While Israel is obviously off its' collective rocker, it is actually fighting something we all have to deal with. You guys <9/11 CT> don't obviously think Israel would do this to itself, do you? Terrorism is real, but so is fascism, and we must not allow either to gain ground in America or the world.

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - A missile fired at an Israeli naval vessel off Lebanon hit a civilian boat, possibly from Egypt, the Israeli army said on Saturday.

A spokeswoman said those on board were believed to have been evacuated, adding it was unclear if there were any casualties.

After initially saying the missile had been fired at an Israeli vessel in a fresh strike early on Saturday, the spokeswoman later said it might have been part of an attack late on Friday when an Israeli warship was badly damaged.

Israeli media said the damaged missile ship was hit by an airborne drone packed with explosives.



Four Israeli troops were missing after the warship was hit in an attack claimed by Hizbollah, Al Jazeera television said, as violence escalated between Israel and the guerrilla group.
