Rice intends to visit Middle East

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice intends to travel to the Middle East to seek to calm the region where Israel has bombarded Lebanon for days and the militant group Hizbollah has fired rockets into the Jewish state.

"At some point in the future, the secretary intends to travel to the region," State Department spokesman Sean McCormack told reporters.

There was no word yet on timing of the visit by Rice, who has just returned from a trip to Russia. But Israel's ambassador to the United States, Daniel Ayalon, said now was not the right moment for her to go.

So how much stiletto stomping and finger wagging is this
Evangelicista/Zionista going to accomplish by way of being
a "blessed peacemaker?"

Especially since rule # 1 is:
Whatever Israel does is absolutely correct.

Rule # 2
In case Israel commits a war crime, see Rule # 1

Rule #3
The Israel lobby holds sway with a ton of lobbyist
contributions and media influence.

Discuss amongst yourselves.
I'm all verklempt.

2. Condi spoke out against a ceasefire!
Speaking against a cease-fire, Rice added, "We have to go at the root cause. . It's fine to have a cessation of violence. .But unless we go to the fundamentals here, we're going to continue to have these spikes of violence in the Middle East as we have had for the past 30 years." (11)

3. How in the hell do they think...
...that Condi will "calm the region."?

Are these freaks for real?

Israel will do what they want to do. They've all ready told Condi to shut it. Do they think that Hezbollah will sit down and listen to her?

I don't understand why they're sending a warmonger to broker peace. Isn't that just a little bizarre?

Are we also sending Charles Manson over to teach Hamas a thing or two about table manners?

8. Feeling better already
I am sure that Condi can smooth things over and get everyone back into there corners. Now if we really wanted to send someone that might have a chance of doing something I think Jimmy Carter and/or Bill Clinton. At least they have some knowledge and have some personal standing in the area.

15. I'd actually vote for Nelson Mandela, Desmond Tutu and FW DeClerk
But really problem is not going to go away, as long as Israel maintains its illegal occupation of Palestinian territory captured during the '67 war and refuses to compensate Palestinian refugees.

And, out of the ashes of this latest set of atrocities will spring yet another Hamas or Hezbollah, determined to resist Israeli aggression.

Mandela, Tutu and DeClerk have showed us an alternative path.

19. Yes they have
Clinton and Carter were just the names that came to mind first. Heck, why not send all of them. I am sure there are enough issues to keep them all busy for a bit, and they certainly have all shown leadership, something sorely missing in this current world.
