Bush: Syria trying to "get back into Lebanon"

WASHINGTON, July 18 (Reuters) - The Middle East crisis indicates that Syria is trying to "get back into Lebanon," U.S. President George W. Bush said on Tuesday.

"There's suspicions that the instability created by the Hizbollah attacks (on Israel) will cause some in Lebanon to invite Syria back in," Bush told reporters, adding that would be against U.S. and U.N. policy.

as much as i hate * and disagree with him, syria has no right to interfere in lebanon. they were there for years directly and are still influencing matters with their client hizbollah terror group.

7. Hezbollah didn't want Syria out.
Allah's Party staged a fairly large protest to force the Leb. government to have Syria stay.

The anti-Syrian groups mounted even larger protests for Syria to go.

10. IIRC
The pro- and anti-demonstrations were of equal size. Except of course in CCM, which of course drooled over "Cedar revolution" and ignored the pro-Syria demonstrations.

8. Who's suspicious? John Bolton, Dick Cheney or Bill Kristol?
Which neocon is responsible Georgie? Cough up a name.

Unsourced suspicion statements from partisans shouldn't be considered valid news.

9. Duh
Except that Lebanese are not flocking to Syria, but to Hezbollah. Syria would be the best compromise that West can hope.

14. LOL...
and to think once upon a time Hezbullah actually said it kidnapped the two soldiers in response to Israeli aggression in Gaza after that soldier got kidnapped by Hamas in retaliation for repeated Israeli attacks in Gaza.

Little did we know the whole time our arch-nemesis Syria was cooking up a cunning plan in league with arch-villian Iran...

The media is really working this one.
