Veto expected today on stem cell bill

By MARY DALRYMPLE, Associated Press Writer 36 minutes ago

WASHINGTON -
President Bush readied the first veto of his presidency to stop legislation to ease limits on federal funding for embryonic stem-cell research. The veto is expected as soon as the measure reaches his desk. White House spokeswoman Dana Perino said that was expected to happen about midday Wednesday, and that Bush would veto the measure as promised.

While both the GOP-run House and Senate defied Bush in passing the measure to expand federally funded embryonic stem research, supporters do not appear to have the two-thirds vote margin needed to override such a veto.

Pleadings from celebrities, a former first lady and fellow Republicans did not move Bush from his determination to reject the bill. However, lawmakers planned to try as soon as Bush issues the veto.

Nor was Bush swayed by two days of emotional debate in Congress, punctuated by stories of personal and family suffering, that plunked lawmakers into the intersection of politics, morality and science.

6. Yes, it will. It's Wedge Issue favoring Democrats. Only Mediawhore spin
could possibly make this a 'win' or favorable to the GOP.

And Mediawhores are already looking for a bogus narrative to use as a fig leaf covering up the GOP theft of elections this coming fall.

4. He does not want to kill the WHITE embryos

In their sick minds, that will help to keep them in power forever.

They are sick beyond!

They could care less about the Black and Brown embryos.

7. King george Does Not Care About His Legacy
I said it in another post, and it bears repeating. george doesn't give a shit how he'll be judged, he only cares about sticking to his so-called "principals," which includes taking away our rights, science, etc.

This article actually mentions that all the 2 days of discussions did absolutely NOTHING to change King george's mind about the veto. Like it would? Has he changed his mind on ANYTHING in the last 6 years? I could have predicted this outcome years ago, but yet AP has to point it out just to reassure me that the King hasn't changed his mind.
