House OKs Bill Guarding Pledge (under god) From Courts

WASHINGTON

The House, citing the nation's religious origins, voted Wednesday to protect the Pledge of Allegiance from federal judges who might try to stop schoolchildren and others from reciting it because of the phrase "under God."

The legislation, a priority of social conservatives, passed 260-167. It now goes to the Senate where its future is uncertain.

How has America gone this long with out this vote? I am so relieved this has finally happened!! How important this vote was, on this day, especially. Nothing else in the world going on, that even compares. We must support all the yea voters to know that the biggest issues are put forward for the American people!!

2. calm down...its an annual event

This bill has been introduced every year since 2002. It even was approved by the House in 2004 (by a vote of 247-173). It has gone nowhere in the Senate in the past and it will go nowhere in the Senate this time as well.
