ABC: 17 Air Marshals Go Public(serious flaws in homeland security program)

http://blogs.abcnews.com/theblotter/2006/07/17_air_marshals.html

17 Air Marshals Go Public

Federal air marshals in four major cities will speak out tonight on their local television newscasts to warn the American public about serious flaws in the much-herald homeland security program.

"Our job is to prevent another Sept. 11 from happening. We can't do that. Not under these circumstances, not under these conditions," says a Las Vegas air marshal in an interview.

The air marshal is one of 17 who will appear anonymously in shadow on local ABC affiliates in Denver, Las Vegas, Atlanta and Dallas. The air marshals say that flawed policies put airline passengers in as much, if not more, danger today than on 9/11.

On May 19, an ABC News undercover investigation on 20/20 and World News Tonight was the first to reveal how Federal Air Marshal policies may be putting the flying public at risk by making it impossible for air marshals to work undercover.

5. Since these people have been creating their "Own reality" it is.
It is well past time we force them to return to the commonly accepted reality that truly exists, the one that is fact bound. Truthiness constrained reality...

3. "Congress has done nothing to fix the problems"
The hell they haven't!! Why just in the past few days they've protected the "under god" in the pledge and a cross on a hill. They've kept queers from getting hitched and the president himself has made sure that millions of people will be spared a cure for debilitating diseases.

How can those traitors say that congress is doing nothing to keep America's air passengers safe? Why do they hate America?

4. one of the complaints I've heard before
is that they have to wear suits and ties and stand out like sore thumbs on the flights. Any terrorist smarter than the shoe bomber would be able to see this flight wasn't a good idea. I'm sure they have other complaints.

7. and that power failure in Socal a couple days ago...
A pickup truck hit a power pole and three major airports were affected; something like 25,000 passengers were delayed. If our air transport system is that delicate, we got way bigger issues than air marshalls who have to wear suits.

10. Who in their right mind would hijack an airplane ala 9/11 anymore?
Edited on Thu Jul-20-06 04:04 PM by kurth
People have been jumped and strangled by fellow passengers just because they acted up. The same fate awaits any potential terrorist who tries to hijack an airplane.

Yeah, like we haven't spent enough taxpayer money to goldplate the cockpit doors and strip search little old ladies.
