Blair facing pressure over Israel
Blair facing pressure over Israel

Last Updated: Monday, 24 July 2006, 04:58 GMT 05:58 UK

Prime Minister Tony Blair is coming under pressure from within his own party to take a tougher stance with Israel over its bombing of Lebanon.

Labour MP Andrew Love said some in the Cabinet wanted a "more robust attitude" from Mr Blair over the crisis.

Iraqi leader Nuri Maliki is also expected to criticise UK Middle East policy when he meets the PM later.

<snip>

Mr Love, who chairs the all-party parliamentary Lebanon group, told the BBC: "I agree with those in the Cabinet who are saying we must have a much more robust attitude towards what is happening in the Middle East.

"You cannot have attacks on civilian infrastructure, over 370 people die, without that being a disproportionate response to what has happened in the Middle East and I think the prime minister needs to say that."

2. the fact that there is a large
under current of "dislike" for the jews in england in part to the murders of the brits during that time plus the rise of the aryan nation and islamists put the jewish community in a very bad position...

3. errr.............
i dunno what you've been smoking mate, but you've obviously never been to the UK.

the UK's attitude towards Israeli actions is not one of Pro-Zionism or Anti-Semitism, its because someone is doing a sort-of understandable thing in a bloody stupid way.

5. The rise of Aryan nation??? english jewish community in a precarious
position????

What on earth are you talking about. there is no undercurrent of dislike for the Jews in England (or Britain for that matter) What there is a dislike for is the slaughter of innocent people, a third of them children.

You really need to know what you are saying before you blurt them out.

6. What an odd observation...
Why would you think that there is large dislike of Jews in Britain (you provide no proof).

But if one takes your logic, then one would conclude that Britains should have a dislike of Arabs because after all it was 'arabs' that blew up a bunch of their people and train stations only last year.

A BETTER propaganda approach would have been:

Short and snappy one-liners freely available to you

Blair should stay the course. Ther terrorists also attacked Britain.

People like Love have forgotton what happened on 7/7...that is just a taste of what Israel experiences everyday

Maybe Labour MPs should live in Israel for a week, then they would see the need for Israel to defend itself

If you note -- all of these get your point across without raising the despecable anti-semitic smear which you have COLLECTIVELY applied to all of the British people.

Hard habit to break...I know
