Refugees bombed as they flee to coast

TERRIFIED Lebanese refugees packed into the ports of Tyre and Sidon yesterday as Israeli forces pushed slowly towards Hezbollah's southern stronghold town of Bent Jbail.

Israeli tanks and artillery sought out the Hezbollah bunkers that continued to fire hundreds of rockets into northern Israel. The Israelis have run into surprisingly stiff resistance from the Islamic extremist force.

More than a dozen vehicles of fleeing civilians have been hit by Israeli artillery or warplanes, leaving tens of thousands of refugees too scared to leave overwhelmed cities such as Tyre.

How, exactly, are they damned if they do not kill a LOT of civilians?

Israel's current military operation is at best a terrible failure, at worst a war crime, due to the hugely disproportionate number of civilians killed and wounded.

what I meant was that the civilians are damned if they stay in place or follow the Israeli edict to leave. Either way they can get bombed.

Yesterday when the Beirut airport was bombed again that was the excuse given. I thought the airport was fairly well savaged already.....I guess Hizbollah was hiding in the ruins or?????????

There is a segment of the Israeli population that refuses to believe the eye witness reports coming out of Lebanon.

This is called denial -- and I believe it is due to cult mentality. Humans can be made to believe almost anything -- even that hugh bombs falling from the sky always hit the bad guys.
