Pakistan demands more military helicopters from United States
Pakistan has asked the United States to supply more modern helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft to boost anti-terror and anti-narcotics operations along its border with Afghanistan and Iran.

Sources in the Interior Ministry confirmed that Pakistan had demanded additional helicopters equipped with "bigger guns" when Aftab Sherpao recently visited the US for a meeting of a joint working group on efforts to counter terrorism and drug smuggling.

Sources said the interior minister told American officials at the meeting that Pakistan was hoping to enhance the use of air assets in its operations along the border with Afghanistan and Iran. He said Pakistan needed both fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters for "reconnaissance and operations in the border areas".

1. Yeah that's why Pakistan wants 'em.
"to boost anti-terror and anti-narcotics operations along its border"

Nothing to do with India getting all those snazzy new goodies from the bush** administration? Not jealous? Feeling left out?

2. Is Pakistan still "good guy" or "enemy"?
I have a hard time keeping track. Bad guy, then Afghanistan war so good guy, now making more nukes so bad guy, then demanding more weaponry so...?

5. It's tough to say.
The bad guy is the closest thing to the good guy there, and the bad guys are, at least by some, considered to be the good guys. The good guys support elections because they want tyranny, while the bad guy opposes elections because he opposes tyranny.

I personally support the bad guy against the good guys, even though I think the bad guy may not be as bad as they say.

It's possible that those that are the true good guys aren't really on anybody's radar, but they side with the other good guys against the bad guy because they hope that the good guys will lose in elections. I think they're wrong.

Is it clear now?

6. Is this the same Pakistan that is building a megawatt nuclear reactor
which will create enough plutonium for 50 nukes a year and is run by a dictator who overthrew a democratically elected President? That Pakistan? Our friend?:sarcasm:

7. Does anyone else think this article smells funny?
I kept looking for an official quote "demanding" helicopters with "bigger guns" and it was attributed to an unnamed "source". Is the source a 10 year old playing GI JOE???

I gotta be honest, even if there is some truth to this, it's sensationalist bullcrap. Maybe a poor translation? Even the opening paragraph waters down the original "demanding" to a more polite "asking."

Either way, I don't trust information regarding Pakistan coming from an Indian "news and research community." Take this one with a grain of salt folks.
