Gallup: Bush Job Approval 37% (Drop From 40%)
Edited on Tue Jul-25-06 02:13 PM by Mark E. Smith
PRINCETON, NJ -- A new USA Today/Gallup poll finds 37% of Americans approving of the way Bush is handling his job as president and 59% disapproving. Despite many extraordinary events dominating the news over the past two weeks -- including the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon and Bush's high-visibility trip to Europe ...

Curse and Grope Georgie's Euro performance isn't exactly bringing him back into the nation's good graces ...

2. If Gallup is admitting to 37%, then you KNOW that the figure is even
LOWER THAN THAT!

His poll figures must be SO low that even 37% looks good to his honchos at Gallup.

That's ok, though...his other friends at Fox, CNN, MSNBC, et all will just automatically bring those figures back up to some mystical, unproven number of 42% or 45% and then immediately point out every single Democratic President who has had numbers lower than Bush.

3. Does anyone know what the lowest presidential approval rate
...by any U.S. president was? Who was the president, what was the approval rate, when did this occur and what was the cause in that public opinion shift?

4. Not sure,
maybe we need to look up the stats on John Adams.

13. I think
that Truman was pretty low when he left office. The Korean War being the major cause of that low rating. If memory serves (and it often doesn't)

9. Gas goes up. Bush goes down. Duh.
I just wish something other than gas prices would wake up Americans--say, human slaughter in pursuit of empire, environmental catastrophes, the destruction of the Middle Class, the collapse of health care, the disenfranchisement of poor people and minorities, the assault on reproductive choice, the withholding of civil rights from GLBTs.

But that's just me.

10. Applying the Jack Rabbit Gallup Poll handicap
Gallup says 37%, then Bush's actual approval rating is

32%
