Horse’s Head Dumped in Democratic Councilwoman’s Pool
Edited on Wed Jul-26-06 03:01 AM by President Jesus
MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. - A councilwoman found a severed horse’s head in her swimming pool Tuesday, state police said.

“We’re looking at a threat as a possible angle,” Lt. Pierce Gallagher said. “Certainly, we can’t rule that out.”

There have been some prior instances of harassment directed toward Wawayanda Councilwoman Gail Soro, Gallagher said.

6. Gang
Lets keep in mind that none of us( that I am aware of) know who or what party(s) did this. I agree that the Republicans have used some heinous tactics in politics but that does not mean that they committed this one. I saw no mention of them in the article

7. We can't jump to conclusions but we can speculate
And my speculation is that some one who is a fanatical supporter of her opponent did this on their own.
OR: She just pissed off someone about a street project or zoning decision and the effected person just lost it and there is no political motivation at all.

8. Yeah, I'm sure when it comes out, we'll find out it was her Dem primary
challenger? It may not turn out to be an officially sanctioned Repub action, but I'm willing to lay good money that whatever sick jerk did something like this for whatever warped reason - it'll turn out that he (they) are registered Repub(s)

3. a possible threat? maybe they should watch "the godfather". also, if
they DO find the responsible parties, are they also going to be charged with animal abuse or something? surely the spca or humane society will also be involved.

4. Would like to have more details
Even though the article itself doesn't provide much.

Why did she deserve the severed horse head?

Who has access to a severed horse head?

What are the other threats?

Is she being provided security?

Solution would be to install security cameras to catch the culprits in action!

Here's another instance of animal cruelty in Texas.....

When she came home Thursday evening, someone had left a dead cat posed on her front lawn. The cat had been cut off at the shoulders. A vet said it had been "sliced" by a human, not an accident. Judge Criss said the cat was posed with it's front legs crossed and it's head resting on the legs and looking up.

Judge Criss has handled a number of high profile cases, among them the Robert Durst case. Durst is out on patrol after being found guilty of hacking his neighbor to pieces. Durst's attorney, Dick DeGuerin, said that Durst has been in Houston for the past several days and should not be a suspect.

Dick DeGuerin, is also HotTub Tom "BugBoy" The Hammer DeLay's attorney.

A lot of sick Froookers out there!

5. A horse's head is a death threat. Bodyguards and a thorough police
investigation is the solution.

9. a bit more here.
MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. First it was bent windshield wipers. Then a sex toy stuck to the windshield. But the harrassment of an Orange County councilwoman hit a new low when she found a horse's head in her swimming pool. >snip<

>She told the Middletown Times Herald-Record that the earlier incidents happened at the town hall, where she's the lone Democrat on the five-member board.<

>State police removed the head from the pool and took it to a local veterinarian. They're still investigating who might be behind the grisly prank.

Soro's been in the middle of tussles over growth and planning that are the hot-button issues in the town. But she says she won't be scared out of office. She's up for re-election next year, and she's running.

12. well you can well imagine that it's someone
who is over invested in growth in that community.

reminds me of a ''pombo'' kind of mind set - an out of control desire for ''growth'' causing someone to lose their minds and horse to lose it's head.

beyond scary is right.

14. Yep. follow the money.
I got chills reading the second article cited above.

Can't even begin to imagine the horror. I admire her decision to carry on despite the obviously implied death threat. Don't know if I could find the resolve and strength that would take.

Sure hope they find the sicko who did this.

Don't ya just love this tidbit: They're still investigating who might be behind the grisly prank.

Grisly Prank, I would think it was MORE THAN JUST A PRANK!

Someone was trying to intimidate this woman. No doubt about it....

And of course as I stated above security cameras is her best protection of her home.

A 'prank' is when you put toilet paper all over someone's lawn.

This was not a prank.

25. Question is: whose horse was it originally?
See, the issue here is, although this is a really horrible thing to do, the obvious connection to the movie, "the Godfather" is very blatant. However, in the movie the horses head served not only a warning, but the horse was also the prized possession of the person who found it in his bed. So, the message was: if you screw with us, we will screw with you and take away (kill) the things you love the most.

Using a horses head now, if she didn't originally own the animal is not only a pure act of cruelty, but a really poor use of metaphor. Can't anyone be original anymore?

(yes, I'm being a bit snarky)

Jack Woltz:

"Johnny Fontane never gets that movie. That part is perfect for him, it'll make him a big star, and I'm gonna run him out of the business - and let me tell you why: Johnny Fontane ruined one of Woltz International's most valuable proteges. For five years we had her under training - singing lessons, acting lessons, dancing lessons. I spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on her, I was gonna make her a big star. And let me be even more frank, just to show you that I'm not a hard-hearted man, and that it's not all dollars and cents: She was beautiful; she was young; she was innocent. She was the greatest piece of ass I've ever had, and I've had 'em all over the world. And then Johnny Fontane comes along with his olive oil voice and guinea charm, and she runs off. She threw it all away just to make me look ridiculous! And a man in my position can't afford to be made to look ridiculous!"

NOW YOU GET THE HELL OUTTA HERE!

I have to say that I pity the horse. What sort of freak would decapitate a horse? I simply don't understand animal cruelty. I hope the police take this seriously, find the sub-human creep that perpetrated this abomination and prosecute to the fullest extent of the law.

this link features a link to the results of a survey that was done of the town residents. Apparently the people of the town and the Democrats serving in the town are against certain kinds of development and are intent on maintaining the rural feel of the town.

I hope they find who did it and I would bet that it's a potential developer who probably also is a big contributer to the town's Republicans.
