U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow has raised more than her two Republican challengers combined and has already bought $2.7 million worth of advertising for the November general election, federal election records show.
Stabenow's total of $7.3 million in donations blows away the $2.6 million raised by Senate candidates Keith Butler, founder and senior pastor of the Word of Faith International Christian Center, and the $2 million by Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard. All figures are through June 30.
Butler and Bouchard have spent much of their money, while Stabenow still has $4.3 million after buying her latest advertising spots.
Butler had $649,000 on hand as of June 30, federal records show. Bouchard's campaign staff said he had $530,000 available as of last week. Butler bought $668,000 in TV ads for a final primary blitz next week, according to National Journal's Hotline political newsletter.
