BBC: UN deaths 'threaten peacekeeping'
The UN has warned the deaths of four of its personnel in southern Lebanon may deter countries from contributing to a future peacekeeping force in the area.
UN deputy chief Mark Malloch-Brown said they accepted Israel's apology for the losses to Israeli fire, but still had "serious concerns" about what happened.

The UN has called for a three-day truce to let aid enter Lebanon, but Israel has rejected the request.
(...)
The US president has again dismissed calls for an immediate truce.

3. This link was sent to be about why...
http://www.strategypage.com/htmw/htintel/articles/20060728.aspx

Looks to be a military information site, though it has a distinct RW flavor. It claims the strike was justified since the UN was acting a Hezbollah spotters (actively and passively). Presented without endorsement or concurrence...

5. Rejected the Request?
Israel must be assured of it's support, because it isn't even attempting to mollify the critics (who are growing in number internationally)...

Israel sees threats to itself in even the most reasonable demands asked of it. Israel can't seem to see anything as reasonable regardless of whether it is it's Hamas, the UN, Mennonite Peace Groups, EU, Chinese Foreign Ministers, etc etc...

They are ALL enablers of a dastardly Muslim Arab plot. This is pure irrational and at it's heart is racism.

I would love to know what happened to all those self-righteous liberals everyone used to bump into on the Left that would go in ballastic tirade about institutional sexism and racism if someone used the word, 'chick' or 'Hebrew'?
