14. You should have heard the President of Lebanon on CNN just now...
Edited on Sun Jul-30-06 05:22 AM by countryjake
by telephone, the commentator asked him why he didn't want Ms. Rice to come to Lebanon.

"There is no place on this sad morning for any discussion other than an immediate and unconditional ceasefire as well as the international investigation into the Israeli massacres in Lebanon now."

I'm sure he must have been looking out his window at the demonstrators as he spoke.

Condi is just as responsible for the terror that has come down on Qana (again) as the bastards who dropped those bombs!

They seem to hope that Israel is just getting started.

I don't think the deaths of the children in Qana will affect Bush in the slightest. He only cares about "snowflake" babies. The brown ones can fend for themselves.

I MEAN IT MUST BE EXCITING, LIKE THOSE SHOOT EM UP, BANG, BANG VIDEO GAMES YA'LL PLAY. Go join the "fun", but don't expect my family to join in--because there is nothing, nothing as depraved as murdering others, especially children!!!!!! And, if I hear one more person say "well, that's just war", I'm going to become a "screaming blue meanie" right back--NO, it is not just war--for if it was YOUR FAMILY, YOUR CHILDREN, then maybe ya'll wouldn't be shrugging your apathetic shoulders and thinking it was just war!!!!!

12. Rice says "time for ceasefire" after Qana bombing
JERUSALEM (Reuters) - U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, speaking after the Israeli bombing of the Lebanese village of Qana, said it was time for a ceasefire in the war between Israel and Hizbollah guerrillas.

She said she was saddened by the bombing and confirmed that she had canceled a planned trip to Beirut, but would stay in Israel to try to work out a deal for ending the 19-day-old conflict.

it is now gone. We seem to have shown our true colors. We are a military empire and we are going to do as we like and the rest of the world can go to hell. And it does not look like we have one Dem. that dares to say a thing about it but just to sort of go along with what ever the War Party wants. Now Condi will try to say she is a peace loving person as the USA is and the world is laughing.

the COMPLETE zipcode, things might have been different. But since the terra-ists deliberately hid the potential collateral damage there in a way that only Iranians and terror groups like H'Zbullah do, this unfortunate event took place. All responsibility lies with Iran and Lebanon.

The Bush administration (a wholly owned subsidiary of AIPAC) will not actually push for a real cease fire until Israel informs the USA that they are done inflicting their collective punishment on Lebanon. Give us a few more days. Surely there must be a few more babies we can kill.

50. Nice headline
That's BS. She's trying to give the appearance of wanting a cease-fire, while actually acting as a stonewaller behind the scenes to allow Israel more time. If any reporter actually asked what the conditions are for her "cease-fire", it'd probably have more clauses & conditions than a sports agency contract. We don't want a ceasefire - but we'll still pretend that we do for the cameras.

Edited on Sun Jul-30-06 12:23 PM by ryanmuegge
I thought they were putting off supporting a ceasefire in favor of a "long-term solution" in the Middle-East.

Anyway, I guess the fighting in Lebanon is getting to the point where the administration feels that it could be politically damaging. This is no longer a welcomed diversion from Iraq; it's becoming damaging in PR terms. That's the whole reason for this flip-flop to calling for a "pointless" ceasefire.
