3 of 11 missing Egyptian students found
Three of 11 missing Egyptian students has been picked up — one in Minneapolis, Minn., and two in Manville, N.J., NBC News’ Pete Williams reported.

The FBI confirmed the discovery of the student found in Minneapolis earlier on Wednesday.

Eslam Ibrahim Mohamed El-Dessouki, 21, was arrested "without incident" by FBI and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, FBI Special Agent Richard Kolko said. The identities of the other two have not yet been confirmed.

2. Well,
They met these girls at the EconoLodge, went to have drinks in the bar and listen to the Eagle's cover band and the next thing you know they sobered up and found themselves managing a Laundromat in New Jersey.

So typical.

4. Signing up for flying lessons, or is it scuba classes this time?
I guess because they are Egyptian we have to immediately assume that they are dangerous. It would crazy to have this story in the news except that it is a perfectly Rovian way of trying to keep the timid clinging to an assumed (and I believe misplaced) belief that the Administration will protect us.

23. I know. I heard it and assumed they had been the victims of abduction
or harm ala pretty white girls. The thought of them being terrorists never occurred to me until I read some of the scare posts here. I gotta get that Muslim bigotry thing going.

9. I'm not making any statement about how Egyptians behave.
But these guys obviously haven't been going to class. The information has been in the news for several days. Mightn't they call someone and say, "Hey, we're over here at the beach"?

It would be nice to know what they were doing so we can counter the terra! terra! cries.

10. Sure. And how awful to have your privacy invaded so
profoundly.

I think my problem is that, if our government were earnestly concerned about terrorists from the Middle East, they wouldn't be setting it on fire.

On the other hand, I can't make myself believe that our government is earnestly concerned about us, not even in any way.

:(

24. I think the FBI and the school did the right thing in this case.
The kids had a student visa to enter this country. If they do not check into the school they are suppose to be attending then maybe we should find out why they were here. If they are no longer students then the are in violation of their student visas and should not stay in the country, and apply for new visas if they wish to return.

13. Kinda my thought, too
They've been all over the news, they could have avoided all of this by checking in.

They weren't where they were supposed to be and it raised a red flag. There is a bit of a precident for concern.

19. From the Strib
http://www.startribune.com/462/story/604853.html

The FBI identified the student found in Minnesota as Eslam Ibrahim Mohammed El-Dessouki, 21. He was arrested about 11 a.m., according to the bureau.

Hamvi Kassab, a Minneapolis grocer, told KSTP-TV that he is El-Dessouki's uncle and that agents arrested the man at Kassab's St. Louis Park home. Kassab said he called the FBI after learning about the search.

El-Dessouki was in Minnesota to visit relatives and to inquire about attending the University of Minnesota, Kassab said.

Sounds suspicious to me... A 21 year old visiting their uncle? No way, he must have been smuggling Anthrax Simplex 5...

20. buy a lot of gallon sized plastic storage bags
and carefully slit each one of them up the sides. You can use the duct tape to patch them together. Or reverse them and use the closing mechanisms to zip them together. Make sure not to use the freezer bags. They're harder to see through.
