Peter King foe wants a Conn. repeat for LI (Lamont voters bigots)
Edited on Wed Aug-09-06 06:25 PM by Bleachers7
Nassau Legis. David Mejias (D-North Massapequa), like others across the nation, has watched the Connecticut Senate race as a gauge of support for Republican President George W. Bush's administration, including the war in Iraq.

"If Joe Lieberman is in trouble, imagine how much trouble Peter King is in," said Mejias, who was in Washington yesterday gathering support for his bid to oust the veteran King (R-Seaford) as Connecticut Democrats went to the polls. "King should be watching this race very closely."

King said the Connecticut primary has no bearing on his re-election race because "fortunately, the Third District is not composed of the left-wing bigots who went after Joe Lieberman."
<snip>

On Long Island, Nassau GOP leader Joseph Mondello said there is no correlation between the Lieberman primary and King's bid for re-election. "Peter's stance is not anti-war or pro-war but a matter of principle. I think Long Island agrees with him. And God bless Joe Lieberman. I wish him all the luck in the world."

Plus Long Island Republican loser extraordinaire Joe Mondello endorses Lieberman. :rofl:

1. Forget it
Change is sweeping. King is the ONLY holdout. And you can kiss Suozzi goodbye, too.

10. I'm so sick of it.
I'm not a terrorist, I'm not an insurgent, I'm not a wackadoo, I'm not a bigot.

I just happen to care about others, and the Constitution. When those become wacky ideas, we're really screwed.

11. yeah ... it's on all right wing boards/forums
Whenever the Repugs and their robotons have a critcal-thinking meltdown, they turn to their talking points and begin sounding like pull-string dolls. My apologizes to pull-string dolls and their owners around the world ... and robotons ... and for mixing metaphors.

13. grasping at straws
the volume and shrillness of their response to a simple democratic primary, of all things, are indicators of their desperation.

7. Peter King's "neocon slip" is showing. I hope they all rear their heads
so they can be identified and voted out.

A donation to Mejias is definitely on my to-do list.
