U.S. commander sees no evidence of al Qaeda in Iraq
BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- A top U.S. commander in Iraq said Saturday attacks on Iraqis are rising as strikes on coalition troops are down by 30 percent -- but an al Qaeda link has not been found to any of them.
At this time, we've not conclusively established an al Qaeda" connection, said U.S. Army Lt. Gen. Ricardo Sanchez, head of ground forces. "We firmly believe that there are links both financial and training and operational links that are present, but still haven't made that connection."

Coalition forces say foreign fighters have been assisting an Iraqi Baathist guerrilla network in launching daily hit-and-run attacks against pro-U.S. targets

Sanchez said that since the beginning of Ramadan, attacks on Iraqis have more than doubled, noting that in the 32 days since the start of the Muslim holy month, there have been 74 attacks against Iraqi civilians and government officials and 82 attacks on Iraqi security forces.

2. gee, how many Americans will see this?
besides us?

versus how many will hear the bullshit saying "it's better to fight the terrorists in Iraq than in the streets of America".

Ugh. I'm getting "lie overload"

3. What??
Can all those polled by CNN be wrong? Is this not a democracy? Surely - if the majority says it is so then facts be damned.

7. al Qaeda link has not been found to any of them- freepers found them!
Let's see the freepers found in Iraq:

WMD's
nuclear missiles
al Qaeda and their links to 9/11
evil Islamic people bend on destroying our freedoms

Why don't we send the freepers to Iraq since they can find these things there when no one else in the world can?
