World powers strike deal to end Lebanon fighting
World powers agreed on Friday on a U.N. resolution to end four weeks of fighting between Israel and Hizbollah, but an Israeli government official said the offensive in Lebanon would not be halted yet.

The draft resolution was set to be unanimously approved by the Security Council later on Friday, diplomats said. The Lebanese government accepted the draft, an official source said.

Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert told U.S. President George W. Bush that he backs the resolution, an Israeli government official said.

An Israeli official, however, said the Israeli army would not stop its offensive until the cabinet met on Sunday to consider the resolution.

So there's another day or two of fighting before they might stop? If they trot out the excuse of the Jewish Sabbath for why they're not considering it immediately, then I presume the IDF stops fighting all the way through the Sabbath as well, does it?

1. So, Olmert orders an expansion of the ground assault on Friday
but they can't convene the cabinet (also today) to decide to go along with the resolution that they have already given their stamp of approval?

I suppose they will then deny that they want to get a few more shots in while they can.

3. Is anybody still confused about the intentions of Israel?
They intend to keep fighting. Why would Hezbollah stop fighting if the IDF has not stopped?

The ceasefire is broken.

4.  Israel will continue killing innocent civilians in Lebanon
until Israel come about their religion feast beginning on Saturday, and will consider the UN proposal on Sunday….but until then they will keep going on killing.
