Explosions Rock Hezbollah Stronghold

BEIRUT, Lebanon (AP) - At least 20 huge explosions rattled Beirut over a two minute period Sunday, in what appeared to be shelling of south Beirut by Israeli warships anchored off the Lebanese coast.

Television reports said the shells fell in the Dahiyeh suburb, a Hezbollah stronghold that has been pounded repeatedly by Israeli warplanes and ships.

No doubt it's gonna get intense before it ends.

4. on both sides I'm afraid: Israeli killed in Hezbollah rocket attack
a snip:
A 70-year-old man was killed and another was moderately wounded in the rocket attack," a spokesman for the Magen David Adom rescue services said Sunday.

Police said Hezbollah fired 155 rockets at northern Israel on Sunday morning as Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's cabinet met to vote on a UN ceasefire resolution to end the month-long Lebanon war.

A total of nine people were wounded, three of them seriously, in the other rocket attacks, medics reported.

5. Yeah, it is as it has been, just sickening to witness.
Nothing has been resolved except to prove that Israel and Hezbollah can both trade in death and destruction.

6. Good! No country should have to live with an armed gang at the border
Lebanon should not allow Hiz to have heavy weapons and be armed .

They're the Bloods and the Crypts with rocket launchers.

7. Wrong.
I have no fondness or admiration for H'zbollah- they are, after all, steeped in fundamentalism- but they're an integral part of life in Lebanon, particularly in Southern Lebanon. Last Sunday's NYT had an excellent article about the social and political role that H'zbollah plays in Southern Lebanon. You can't just dismiss them as street thugs.

13. They are street thugs crafty enough to ingratiate themselves
into Lebanon's official political system.

9. Hey wait a minute....
Have these photos been certified by Little Green Football?
:sarcasm:

Apparently, too many of these revealing photos have been appearing on the 'internets'.
There seems to be a concerted effort to plant seeds of doubts about them.

10. What could be left?
They've been doing this all month. And to what effect? The Beirut bombings don't seem to stop the missile launches at all.
