9. Tankers colliding? How in the hell is this accomplished?
Last time I looked, the ocean was mighty big and tankers were big enough to see with the naked eye.
that is unless the captain is asleep or drunk.

Japanese tanker spills crude oil
Updated: 56 minutes ago

TOKYO - A Japanese tanker spilled about 1.4 million gallons of crude oil in the eastern Indian Ocean following a collision with a cargo ship, the tanker’s operator said Tuesday.

Japan’s Kyodo news service said the spill — which would be about 4,500 tons — may have been the largest ever involving a Japanese tanker.

The Bright Artemis tanker spilled the oil following a collision Monday with the Amar, a smaller cargo ship, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines said in a statement. It said the accident took place when the tanker maneuvered near the Amar, which was in distress about 300 miles west of India’s Nicobar islands.

3. AP's version here
OIL SPILL IN INDIAN OCEAN

Excerpt:

More than 4,500 tons, or about 5 million litres, of crude oil may have spilled into the Indian Ocean near the Nicobar Islands, after a Japanese tanker collided with a cargo ship.

The Bright Artemis tanker spilled the oil following a collision with the Amar, a smaller cargo ship, Mitsui OSK Lines, the tanker’s operator, said in a statement, adding that the exact amount of oil spilt was not clear.

The tanker, which was bound for Japan, was carrying about 250,000 tons (1.76 million barrels) of crude.

There were no reports of injuries aboard the tanker, which had a crew of 23, or the other vessel, which was registered in Singapore.

7. Mother Earth has no choice but to shake us off like a bad case of fleas -
.
.
.

She's working on it

Believe me

Between all this war stuff and global warming going on?

The earth will do quite well without us humans

WE are the parasite

WE are the one creature on the planet that don't fit into the "balance" of nature

We could have, but it is too late -

Our greed and misuse of this World's resources has doomed us, - and sadly, many other species as well

Momma Earth will be better off when she evicts this wayward species (that be us hoomans)

(sigh)
