Ryanair sues British govt over security(Airline fed up with terror scares)
LONDON (MarketWatch) -- Ryanair Holdings on Friday made good on its threat to sue the British government, asking for damages from cancellations and lost bookings after security moves taken in wake of a failed plot to blow up planes flying out of the U.K. to the U.S.

The move, however, didn't appear intended to bolster the coffers -- it's asking for 3 million pounds ($5.7 million), which it would donate entirely to a charity that works to prevent blindness.

Ryanair, Europe's largest low-cost airline, said it's seeking the amount of damages incurred from Aug. 10 to Aug. 16. The British government, in turn, said Ryanair doesn't have the right to seek compensation, according to a government spokesman quoted by BBC News.

. .

Dublin-based Ryanair has been the most outspoken of the airlines operating from the U.K. to criticize the U.K. government rules, though British Airways executives also have criticized the government's response.

Ha. Blair/Bush will have to think twice before putting on another one of their dog and pony scare campaigns. The business sector is putting them on notice.

4. They cant
or they would be out of business. They are incapable of operating on their own with no government help.

5. Good. This is what needs to happen. $$$ will end this fearmongering
I've often wondered which airlines the Crime Family is targeting with their phony "terrorist" games. Does Carlisle have one brand they own? I know Marvin Bush was on the BOD of United security before 9-11, have they trashed United frequently, AA?

6. I was just wondering yesterday what the airlines thought of bush/blair.
You can bet there are some pretty nasty invectives being spoken against the two of them in the privacy of some certain corporate offices.
