Rice To Help End Israel Blockade Of Airport - Lebanon PM
Another Alice-in-wonderlandy headline.

BEIRUT (AP)--U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice promised on Saturday to help lift an Israeli blockade on Beirut's airport, according to a statement by the Lebanese prime minister's office.

Rice made a telephone call Saturday to Prime Minister Fuad Saniora, in which she said she was exerting "serious and prompt" efforts to lift the blockade as soon as possible, the statement said.

It said Rice expressed hope that her efforts would bear fruit in the near future.

Lebanese Information Minister Ghazi Aridi on Saturday criticized what he called U.S. support for Israel's decision to maintain the sea and air blockade of Lebanon.

1. Like she "helped" get a ceasefire?
I'd be inclined to tell Rice to stuff her "help" where the sun don't shine, but I suppose Saniora has be more diplomatic.

2. Looks like another stall to me.
I can't say I understand what the Bushites think they will accomplish by such assholeish behavior though. Maybe it's just a reflexive assholeishness.

4. "reflexive assholeishness" sounds about right to me.
If nothing else, it gives her something to do in order to look like she's earning her keep. If there has ever been a more pathetic, absurdly useless excuse of a Secretary of State in all of U.S. history, I'm not aware of it.

Even Kissinger -- evil bastard that he was/is -- at least had some intelligence and geopolitical skills. Rice is nothing but a baton twirler in a junior high talent show.
