Olmert rejects state inquiry into handling of Lebanon war
POSTED: 2:28 p.m. EDT, August 28, 2006

JERUSALEM (CNN) -- Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert on Monday rejected an independent commission to investigate his government's handling of the war against Hezbollah militants in Lebanon.

Instead, Olmert said he would appoint his own committee, which is expected to be more narrow in scope than a state probe.

"I am not going to allow the army to be a whipping boy, nor am I ... simply to satisfy some Tom, Dick or Harry," he said in a speech in Haifa, a northern Israeli city hit hard by Hezbollah rocket attacks in the 34-day conflict.

In a July 12 raid into Israel, Hezbollah militants captured two Israeli soldiers, and Israelis then moved to target Hezbollah militants in fierce military action.

4. The Israeli government. Make sure you make that distinction. Cuz
the Israeli people are really trying to hold their government accountable. Unlike how long it took our people to get the picture and then forgot and helped to sweep it under the rug.

The only way you'll see we held our people accountable is to vote them out 6 years after the fact.

I give the Israeli people their props. They wanted answers days after the cease fire. You hardl hear the dooped murkins making a fuckin peep.

3. A large portion of the Israeli population
want olmert's head because he agreed to the cease fire before securing the release of the soldiers being held captive. Olmert is less of a hard liner than what some israelis want.

6. Omlette simply wants to...
...investigate himself, the same way the Pentagon investigates itself every time our GI Joe's commit an atrocity or bomb something civilian...because that way, there's absolutely no chance that anyone will be held accountable for anything. If memory serves, it's the same thing he did with the infamous beach-bombing, the shelling of the UN outpost, etc...let his lackies look into the matter, and report a clean bill of health.
