'Wash Post' Hires Key White House Speechwriter/Aide (Gerson, WHIG)
http://www.editorandpublisher.com/eandp/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1003120055

Michael Gerson, a key aide and speechwriter for President Bush until this summer, will soon join the Washington Post as op-ed columnist, the paper announced today. Gerson will start in January with a twice-weekly column that will also be syndicated.

Later, in an online chat at the paper's Web site, Howard Kurtz noted concerns about Gerson's independence, but pointed out that the Post has a number of liberal columnists.

... Gerson, a member of the White House Iraq Group, has been credited with several memorable Bush phrases, including "axis of evil." He has been active in the religious community, and in its February 1, 2005 issue, Time Magazine called him the nation's 9th most influential evangelical, labeling him "The President's Spiritual Scribe." It said, "The former journalist shares Bush's devout Christian faith and his view that the role of Providence in human affairs should be reaffirmed in the public square."

Gerson's previous jobs included working for Charle Colson, as a senior editor at U.S. News and World Report, and at the Heritage Foundation.

1. Love that liberal media!
Yup.

Now that ABC has served their BushCo masters so well with TPT911---other media outlets
will be clamoring to prove that they can catapult the propaganda just as well.

Are we descending into "V for Vendetta" hell, or what?

2. Well...the Right Wing Media take over is just about complete. And, with
Eric Alterman's firign and probably more to come on the Lefty side...we will be PRAVDA Soviet Style.

They are really desperate to win and they will do it at whatever cost. But the Media is compliant with this. The Corporate owned media.

4. Why would any intelligent newspaper want to espouse that kind of
arrogant elitist narrow controlling pressure? What they need is open window straight investigating freedom.

5. Smells Like....
.... a Fred Hiatt hire. Nothing like an evangelical, ultra right-wing neo-con bush/cheney lover to provide "balance", huh, Fred?

7. If this surprises anyone
then I guess they take the Washington Post seriously.

I don't know about anyone else, but when someone cites me anything that the Post prints- they automatically lose all credibility.

12. More of the "New Truth"
which is much better than that old truth.

Everything changed on 9/11. We are at war.
