Poll Shows Strickland Leading Blackwell (OH)
POSTED: 7:58 am EDT September 19, 2006
UPDATED: 8:15 am EDT September 19, 2006

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Democrat Ted Strickland is maintaining a big lead over Republican Ken Blackwell among likely Ohio voters with only seven weeks left in the race for governor, a poll released Tuesday found.

The Quinnipiac University poll found that 55 percent of likely Ohio voters favored Strickland, a U.S. representative from Lisbon, while 34 percent backed Blackwell, Ohio's secretary of state.

The numbers were similar to a Columbus Dispatch poll released in July that found 47 percent supporting Strickland and 27 percent favoring Blackwell. An Ohio Poll conducted by the University of Cincinnati in May gave Strickland a 50 percent-44 percent edge.

The Quinnipiac University Polling Institute surveyed 876 likely Ohio voters from Sept. 11-17. The poll had a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

1. We might see a clean sweep of state-wide offices.
I will be very happy to see Jennifer Brunner take over for Blackwell as sec. of state.

5. All Blackwell has is negative ads
With the end shot of himself looking like it should have a halo :eyes:

This has got to be the most negative campaign year I've ever seen; all the Republicans have is viciousness to run with.

7. Its true
and really disgusting. The one they have been running the last few days about how Ted hates us because he does not want to secure our borders with the military I find really odd. It just makes me think, well gee, the republicans are proving that the Dem candidate is the one with common sense. What a strange thing for them to do.

9. What positive thing does Crackwell have to run on?
All the man knows how to do is "yes suh boss!" the GOP, gum up the voting process in favor of the Vomit Party and hate homosexuals. Strickland is about hope and rebuilding. People are sick of fear, war, division, smear campaigns and lies.

And let's see that fuckface Diebold his way out of a 20 point deficit. He'll have to go into hiding for quite some time.
