50 bodies of tortured Iraqis found, two U.S. Marines killed
Malaysia Sun
Monday 2nd October, 2006

Iraqi police say at least 50 bodies showing signs of torture have been found in the Baghdad area.

Police say the mutilated corpses, discovered early Monday, had bullet wounds and were most likely victims of sectarian violence.

On Sunday, police say a group of gunmen kidnapped 26 workers from a meat processing factory in western Baghdad. It was not immediately known if some kidnap victims were among the corpses found today.

Iraqi officials say three soldiers from the Iraqi army's quick reaction force were killed early today in an ambush near Kut, 40 kilometers southeast of the capital.

1. Jesus, 50 more? How MANY is that now? Can't keep track, but...
it seems like I've heard of hundreds already in the past couple of weeks.

Anyone?

7. Flowers and candies, indeed, only for the dead and the mourners.
FIFTY tortured and murdered, two dozen from work, forty the day before...two US soldiers...

And all we have to show is a shattered country, a disspirited world and a rubberstamp Congress and a token opposition here.

It looks as if Ari Cohen, Bill Kristol, Paul Wolfowitz, Dick Cheney, and Don Rumsfeld convinced * that he was Louis XIV...grandeur and the spread of war for its own sake. Alas, they now admit that he is but Louis Quinze, waiting for the deluge...but their deepest fear is that he and they are in reality Louis Seize...waiting for the tumbrels and the muffled drums to mount the political and moral scaffold.

Had a single one of them a shred of moral fiber they should all retire from the world after public penance and devoting their remaining days to charity. These men and women have hijacked three religions, invaded a country at which we were at peace and presented no ascertainable threat to the US or her allies...and lied to the world to do what? Get bases to guard the Straits of Hormuz? For revanche for Arabian-financed terrorists for a terror attack by destroying another country while leaving the terrorists largely unscathed in the mountains of a third supposedly allied state?

This is the Congress which cannot seem to find the time to track down the missing $9Billion US greenback dollars for "reconstruction" yet has time to worry about "gay marriage" and tax relief for the ultrawealthy? Which spends $2 Billion a week in Iraq and still can't stop the terror in the streets in that civil war? This is the sum that was allotted to the entire Ryan White Care Act, one week's worth of Iraq... This is the money that pitted NYC against DC and Alabama for AIDS/HIV funding...two weeks worth of war. What a sick warped country this is.

Reality is becoming a mixture of a dystopian novel with farce included: shades of Brave New World meets 1984 and Gulliver's Travels...with a bit of Ancien Regime decadence rolled in for good measure.

Wake up America! Raise the red or black flag. General strike! But you won't. You'll be mesmerized by the baseball playoffs and the next costume Peyton Manning will wear in his commercials and if it is "correct" for Audrey Hepburn's image to appear in a GAP commercial...

9. My doctor just came back from Iraq
He was working in the ER they have set up over there. The only comment he made is that so many are being killed, the numbers don't add up. He had other patients waiting so I didn't ask him exactly what he meant but I will try to learn more. So for me, there it is. They are lowering the numbers, possibly until the elections?
